Amazing What Can Happen in Just One Month
We have great folks on our festival committee. And it is just amazing what wonderful ideas they have. They have identified some changes to update and jazz up some old stand-byes. And new things will also be happening. Interested?
Let's talk about the old stand-byes first. First - Community Breakfast: Saturday and Sunday morning from 8 - 11 am. The usual $5 menu (scrambled eggs with diced ham, pancakes, juice or coffee) is still available. However, this year, our chef d'cuisine, Cinda, is including oatmeal with the meal. And not just your ordinary oatmeal. This is SIGNIFICANT, FANCY, MOUTHWATERING oatmeal. She is also offering blueberry pancakes for just $1 more.
Next old stand-bye - Walking Music Parade: Saturday morning at 11am. Yes, you still receive a lyrics list. Yes, you can borrow one of our instruments if you don't have one. The kicker? MUSTACHES! Yep, this year it's a MUSTACHE MUSIC PARADE. It will still start at Ellison & Westside and be 5 blocks long, but this year, we supply the mustache (unless you are happy with your own.)
So what's new, you ask. BINGO! Yes, BINGO! Both Friday and Saturday afternoons from 3 - 5 pm. So when it gets a bit too hot outside, step into the Community Hall for BINGO! Only $1 per card and you are supporting the festival. There will be fun prizes, too.
Also new this year, the GREAT HARMONICA HUFF N' PUFF RACE. What do harmonicas and racing have in common? More than you might think. Both are an excellent pulmonary workout; training helps you excel; and practice makes perfect. And above all else, both are better in Yellow Pine!
We even have the Idaho Hunter Education Association bringing their shooting trailer to town on Wednesday and Thursday. So there is something to do when you come early. This will be their first time to Yellow Pine, so stop by and meet them.
Other stuff is in the works, but I have to leave something for next month.
